FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 30, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL League Two Men’s side dropped its first match of the season on Saturday evening, falling 0-1 to Miami AC in a physical match at Beyond Bancard Field. With the result, Fort Lauderdale’s four-match unbeaten start has come to a close in the final match of its homestand but the club will have a chance to return to the win column in the first game of a three-match road trip, traveling to take on Brevard SC.

The first half was a physical 45 minutes, with both sides threatening to take the lead on numerous occasions. In its fifth match of the season, Fort Lauderdale opted to make six changes to the starting lineup. The attack, headlined by captain Owen Barnett, had multiple chances to take the lead but the clubs went into the halftime break at a scoreless tie. 

The physical match continued into the second half, with both clubs fighting for a winner. Miami AC earned a penalty kick in the 65th minute and hit from the spot, taking the lead with under 30 minutes to go. Fort Lauderdale’s best chance to equalize came after an incredible pass from Matthew Gordon found David Garces in the box. The forward took a touch and fired a shot into the top right corner, but it was denied by the Miami AC keeper. Fort Lauderdale kept pressing for an equalizer, but after 90 minutes, it dropped its first match of the season to Miami AC at home.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 27, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL League Two Men’s squad earned a tough win on Wednesday evening, taking down Lakeland United FC in a gritty match at Beyond Bancard Field. Malher Santi Possu scored his second goal of the season in the match, helping the club secure all three points as Fort Lauderdale continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season. With the win, Fort Lauderdale has won four straight matches to open the 2026 season and will look to carry that momentum into the finale of its homestand as it hosts Miami AC. 

Fort Lauderdale grabbed an early lead after Ethan Subachan found Owen Barnett outside the Lakeland box. Barnett, who recorded a brace in last match’s victory, took a touch and played an insightful through-ball to Santi Possu. The forward put the ball in the back of the net as the keeper took out his legs, giving the club the lead in the 5th minute. Fort Lauderdale continued pressing as the half went on, nearly doubling the lead in stoppage time on a long-range effort from Cole Frame, but the club took a 1-0 advantage into the halftime break. 

Fort Lauderdale held strong on the back-line throughout the second half, but also continued to press in search of a second goal. Defender Fabrizio Cubeddu was dominant on both ends of the pitch, completing slide tackles while nearly finding the net on a couple occasions. Joackim Betina and Subachan continued to threaten on the right side, and substitutes Liam Healey and Ivan Arenas made impressive plays in the midfield to dominate possession for Fort Lauderdale throughout the duration of the half. Goalkeeper Nigel Van Haveren put in another elite performance, securing his fourth straight clean sheet as Fort Lauderdale took down Lakeland United in a physical match at home.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 23, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL League Two Men’s side dominated its matchup on Saturday evening, defeating FC Miami City to continue the club’s unbeaten start to the 2026 season. Midfielder and captain Owen Barnett recorded a brace, while fellow midfielder David Bocuzzo scored his first goal of the season as the club secured another victory at home. With the win, Fort Lauderdale has opened its season with three straight victories and the club will have an opportunity to continue that form with two consecutive home matches over the next week. 

Fort Lauderdale opened the match with intensity on the attack, with Ethan Subachan, Raul Leyva and Malher Santi Possu nearly finding the back of the net throughout the duration of the first half. The club took the lead just seconds into stoppage time after defender Matthew Gordon threaded a perfect throw-in to Subachan in the box. The forward made a pair of defenders miss and laid the ball off for Barnett, who fired a one-touch rocket into the back of the net to give Fort Lauderdale the lead at the halftime break. 

Fort Lauderdale applied pressure from the beginning of the second half, forcing an errant pass from the Miami City goalkeeper that Leyva intercepted and passed to Diego Valles. The Miami native played a pass to Subachan, who let the ball play through, finding Bocuzzo. The midfielder took two touches and sent a left-footed shot to the far post, doubling Fort Lauderdale’s lead in the 57th minute. 

The game was put out of reach in the 66th minute after Santi Possu and Joackim Betina combined down the right side, with the latter sending a cross into the box at the back post. Subachan soared in and headed the ball down, where Barnett stepped in and clinically finished to extend the lead to three with just under 25 minutes remaining. Goalkeeper Nigel Van Haveren and his back line stayed strong until the final whistle, securing its third straight shutout as the club downed FC Miami City on Saturday evening.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 20, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL League Team Men’s side continued its unbeaten start to the 2026 season, defeating Brevard SC in its home opener at Beyond Bancard Field. A pair of defenders found the back of the net for Fort Lauderdale, with Joackim Betina opening the scoring before Fabrizio Cubeddu put the game to bed, securing all three points for the club at home. With the victory, Fort Lauderdale has opened its season with a pair of victories and will have a chance to continue that run of form with three consecutive home games on tap.

Fort Lauderdale was on the attack from the opening whistle, threatening on numerous occasions by the attacking unit of Owen Barnett, Ethan Subachan and Malher Santi Possu. The club took the lead in the 31st minute after Subachan sent a in corner kick that was punched out by the Brevard keeper, but landed at the feet of Raul Leyva near the edge of the box. The hometown product played it back outside the box to Betina, who fired a one-touch, right-footed rocket into the left side of the net, giving Fort Lauderdale a 1-0 lead as it went into the halftime break. 

The club opened the second half with the same intensity from the first, pressing to find a second goal. After Diego Valles was fouled on the right side in Brevard territory, both Subachan and David Bocuzzo stood over the ball. Subachan stepped up and sent in an incredible left-footed, in-swinging cross into the box, where Cubeddu soared in and clinically headed the ball into the back of the net, doubling Fort Lauderdale’s lead with just under an half hour remaining. Both sides continued to press, with Fort Lauderdale searching for a third goal while goalkeeper Nigel Van Haveren looked to preserve his second consecutive shutout. The scoreline remained the same, and Fort Lauderdale finished up a clean, dominant 2-0 victory over Brevard SC in its home opener.

SOUTHWEST RANCHES, Fla. (May 16, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL League Two Men’s squad took down Weston FC on Saturday evening, 2-0, in the club’s 2026 season opener. Malher Santi Possu gave the club an early advantage while a late goal from Ethan Subachan doubled the lead to secure all three points for Fort Lauderdale in its local rivalry match with Weston FC. With the victory, Fort Lauderdale opens its 2026 season with a win and continues its unbeaten dominance over Weston dating back to last season, winning two of its three meetings. 

Fort Lauderdale jumped out to an early lead after an incredible team based attack. The squad built out from the back after a goal kick for Nigel Van Haveren, with nearly all players getting a touch on the ball. Left back Jaden Prado got behind the Weston defense after a through-ball from Owen Barnett and sent a ball into the box. The pass ricocheted and bounced in front of the net, where Santi Possu pounced and fired the ball into the back of the goal in the 8th minute. Fort Lauderdale continued to press as the second half went on, playing stout defense while threatening on the attack. The lead was doubled in the 75th minute after defender Idrissa Mane sent a perfect high-arcing, through-ball pass down the middle of the field. Subachan used his pace to out run his defender and used his strength to box him out, sending a left-footed shot into the near post just before the keeper could get to it, extending Fort Lauderdale’s lead with 15 minutes remaining. The Fort Lauderdale back-line held strong as full time approached, and the club closed out a 2-0 victory over its cross-town rivals in its season opener.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (April 28, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL League Two side announced its 2026 schedule Tuesday afternoon, building on the momentum of a successful inaugural campaign. The club reached the Southern Conference Final in its debut season, finishing as one of the final eight teams in the league. Under the direction of Head Coach Marc Lue Young, Fort Lauderdale United will aim to build on that success and secure a return to the League Two Playoffs in its second season.

Fort Lauderdale will open the season on the road against fellow Broward County neighbor Weston FC on May 16, a team it went unbeaten against last season. The club then returns home for a four-match homestand across a 10-day span, beginning with its home opener against Brevard SC on May 20 before hosting FC Miami City on May 23, Lakeland United FC on May 27 and Miami AC on May 30.

Following the homestand, Fort Lauderdale begins a three-match road trip, visiting Brevard SC on June 3 and FC Miami City on June 7 before closing out the trip against Miami AC on June 13.

The club will close the regular season with four pivotal matches, alternating between home and away. Fort Lauderdale hosts Weston FC on June 24 before traveling to FC Miami City on July 1. The team returns home for its finale on July 8 and concludes the regular season on the road against Lakeland United FC on July 12.

The regular season will be followed by a 35-team single-elimination tournament. The First Round is scheduled for July 13-14, followed by the Rounds of 32 and 16 from July 17-19. The Conference Finals and National Semifinals will take place July 24-26, with the USL League Two Final set for August 1.

• Fort Lauderdale will face Weston FC and FC Miami City three times each, hosting Weston twice while traveling to Miami City twice.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (February 27, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC announced today that its USL League Two pathway to the professional ranks has taken a significant step forward, with midfielder Carlos Zambrano signing a professional contract with New England Revolution II ahead of the 2026 MLS NEXT Pro campaign. Zambrano, a foundational piece of the club’s inaugural USL League Two side, becomes the first men’s player to progress through Fort Lauderdale United’s developmental pathway and sign at the professional level.

Zambrano began his collegiate career at Daytona State College, where he spent two seasons before transferring to Syracuse University for his final three years of eligibility. After his first season in the Empire State, the Miami native returned to South Florida to join Fort Lauderdale United’s USL League Two side ahead of its inaugural season.

Zambrano delivered a standout 2025 USL League Two campaign, earning Southern Conference Player of the Year and Team of the Year honors while helping guide Fort Lauderdale United to the League Two Quarterfinals in the club’s initial season. The dynamic midfielder showcased his versatility in front of goal across the entirety of the season, scoring on curling free kicks, long-range strikes and clinical finishes inside the box while his signature backflips and passionate celebrations took center stage. Zambrano recorded five goals and two assists during the campaign, also earning League Two Player of the Month honors in May while establishing himself as one of the premier players in USL League Two.

“We had a great environment with the coaching staff and all the facilities that were provided allowed us to be successful,” Zambrano said. “That helped us get into our rhythm early in the season and allowed me to help the team win big games. Getting those awards meant a lot to me because last summer, I didn’t get a lot of playing time when I knew I could’ve excelled. Fort Lauderdale – my home – gave me the opportunity and confidence I needed to be a key player. Overall, I enjoyed football at its finest in the 954.”

After his standout summer, Zambrano carried that momentum into his senior season at Syracuse. He appeared in all 20 matches with 12 starts, recording five goals and three assists while helping lead the Orange to the ACC Semifinals and an NCAA Tournament appearance. Zambrano earned the team’s Golden Boot as Syracuse’s leading scorer, an honor previously won by professional standouts Miles Robinson and Tajon Buchanan. 

“The confidence I felt after that summer was like no other,” Zambrano said. “I knew what was at stake at Syracuse after we didn’t have a great year the season before. I knew I had to step up, and that’s what I did.”

The South Florida native’s ascent to the professional ranks underscores the growth he experienced across every level of the pathway, culminating in an opportunity at the next stage of his career. For Zambrano, the call was both validation and fulfillment.

“Signing my first professional contract is something I’ve been chasing since I moved here,” Zambrano said. “I always believed that with the work I’ve put into this sport, God would provide an opportunity – and He delivered. When New England gave me a call, I knew this was my chance to achieve my dream. It’s been a blessing for my family and me, but the real work starts now.”

Zambrano’s signing at the professional level further extends the club’s developmental pipeline as Fort Lauderdale ramps up preparations for its men’s professional USL League One side to debut in 2027.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (October 8, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC was built on the vision of creating a professional pathway for players in South Florida, a place where local talent can stay home, develop, and have the opportunity to reach the next level. For Weston native Andres Morral, that pathway isn’t just an idea. It’s his reality.

Morral grew up playing youth soccer in the South Florida area, moving through the local club system with the same coaches who would eventually transition to Fort Lauderdale United. When the club launched its inaugural USL League Two season in 2025, it became the perfect opportunity to continue his journey close to home.

“I played for a lot of clubs here locally growing up, and basically, all of my coaches transitioned to Fort Lauderdale,” said Morral. “They presented me with that possibility to play with them in the summer, and I trusted them, and here I am at Fort Lauderdale.”

Morral was a key figure in the club’s debut League Two campaign in 2025, helping Fort Lauderdale reach the National Quarterfinals. The dynamic attacker appeared in 12 of 15 matches, making 10 starts and logging 720 minutes. He scored three goals, including a brace in a comeback road win and a clutch strike in the Round of 32 of the playoffs, as the club made an impressive first impression on the national stage.

“At the beginning, everything was really new. Nobody knew what to expect with Fort Lauderdale,” said Morral. “But over time, we became like a family. There’s kids from FIU, Syracuse, Wake Forest, and all these different types of schools, and we all became a family. From there, we went on to the National Quarterfinals.”

Fort Lauderdale United provides a professional environment at every level, from its youth academy system to the senior team. Whether it’s facilities, treatment or coaching, the club delivers a top-of-the-line experience that mirrors the professional game. Morral believes that the club’s professional structure off the field directly translated to its success on it.

“The stadium here (Beyond Bancard Field), I don’t think you can really get that anywhere. I don’t think any USL team has a stadium like this,” said Morral. “The locker rooms, Beyond Bancard Field and there’s around five other quality fields. We’re super professional. We had about six coaches at every training session. We had someone just to warm us up, someone just to cool us down. We had access to ice bath treatment, physical trainers. It definitely played a big part in our success.”

The Weston product began his college career at Flagler College, playing two seasons before transferring this year to Nova Southeastern University. With the No. 25 ranked Sharks squad, he’s made an instant impact. Through six games, Morral has appeared in all and started four, tallying a goal, two assists and tying for the team lead in shots (11).

As Fort Lauderdale prepares for its men’s professional debut in USL League One in March 2026, Morral’s ambitions are clear. His journey mirrors the club’s vision, creating a pathway where local players can develop, compete, and pursue their dreams at the highest level without leaving home.

“My dream is to sign with Fort Lauderdale for the USL League One team,” he said. “Hopefully, that happens.”

BURLINGTON, VT. – Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL League Two Men’s season came to a close on Friday evening with a 2-1 loss to Dothan United in the Southern Conference Final. Forward Michael Appiah netted the club’s lone goal in the Playoff duel, finishing off a brilliant assist from Rolando Belgrove.

Fort Lauderdale United caps its inaugural League Two season with a 10-3-2 record across 15 matches, highlighted by a pair of thrilling playoff wins. Over the course of the campaign, the club scored 26 goals, earned a Player of the Month honor and saw two players named to Team of the Month selections.

Fort Lauderdale fell behind early, conceding a penalty in the 16th minute that was put in the back of the net. Just four minutes later, a near-post strike left Fort Lauderdale trailing 2-0 less than 20 minutes into the match. The deficit held through the remainder of the first half, with the club unable to find a response before the halftime break.

Fort Lauderdale came out of the break with urgency and pulled one back 20 minutes into the second half. After carrying the ball into Dothan territory, Belgrove delivered a soaring cross into the box, where Appiah rose and powered a header to the far post to cut the deficit in half in the 65th minute. The club continued to press forward with its eye on equalizing, but was unable to, and after 90 minutes, Fort Lauderdale United dropped its matchup with Dothan United in the Southern Conference Final.
