FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 18, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC is thrilled to announce the signing of former Texas A&M forward Kate Colvin ahead of the 2025/26 Gainbridge Super League season, pending league and federation approval.
“Colvin is a proven competitor at a high-level collegiate program who consistently works to improve,” said Ali Rogers, Associate Head Coach of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “Her mentality, work rate, standards and commitment to winning set her apart and make her a valuable asset to our team.”
A dynamic threat on the wings, Colvin brings the pace, athleticism, and quality in both distribution and end product that Fort Lauderdale values in its wide players. The Texas A&M product is well-rounded on the attacking end and also has a creative edge to her game, capable of beating defenders on the dribble, picking out key passes and finishing chances herself with her ability to cut inside and strike.
“Colvin is a versatile and fearless attacking player who brings a lot to our front line,” said Aly Hassan, General Manager of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “Her ability to beat defenders, create for others, and finish chances herself makes her a constant threat. We’re excited to add her energy and creativity to the group.”
A native of Magnolia, Texas, Colvin came through the Houston Dash Developmental Academy, where she captained both the U-17 and U-19 squads. She also trained with the Dash’s NWSL side during the summer of 2019 before heading to College Station. While at Texas A&M, Colvin put together a stellar five-year career, appearing in 78 matches while recording 42 starts, 4,014 minutes and 36 total points on 12 goals and 12 assists.
Colvin battled injuries over her final two seasons in Aggieland, but the dynamic forward put together a breakout campaign in 2022, tallying 4 goals and 8 assists while starting 19 matches and appearing in all 21. Following the season, she earned the Aggie Assist Leader Award and the Iron Aggie Award, which honors excellence in conditioning, strength, and overall sports performance. With her signing, Colvin becomes the third Texas A&M product to suit up for Fort Lauderdale, continuing the pipeline between College Station and South Florida.
A versatile wing threat, Colvin will add pace, creativity and depth to Fort Lauderdale’s attack as the club continues building toward another visit to the Super League Final.
