FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (July 9, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC is proud to announce that Jules Cagle has signed a professional contract with the club ahead of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League season, adding youthful energy to the back-line as the club continues to invest in its player development pathway, pending league and federation approval. The 17-year-old defender, who appeared for Fort Lauderdale United on an Academy contract during the 2025/26 campaign, becomes the third player in club history to earn a professional contract after progressing through the Fort Lauderdale United Academy, joining Taylor Smith and Daniela Todd.

“Seeing Jules earn a professional contract is a tremendous moment for both her and our club,” said Aly Hassan, General Manager of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “From the day she joined us on an Academy contract, she embraced the challenge of competing in a professional environment and continued to grow every step of the way. Cagle, a native of Clemmons, North Carolina, joined the Fort Lauderdale United Academy during the 2025 offseason after dominating ECNL over the last two seasons. The defender made four appearances for the first team in her rookie campaign, becoming the youngest player in club history at the time to make her professional debut when she appeared against Sporting JAX on April 11 at 16 years, 332 days old. Cagle continued to impress throughout the season, becoming the youngest player in club history to start a match for Fort Lauderdale United when she earned a place in the starting lineup against Dallas Trinity FC on May 16 at 17 years, 2 days old in the season finale. A promising young defender with immense potential, Cagle represents the future of Fort Lauderdale United and will look to continue her development as a key part of the club’s long-term vision.

The signing further underscores Fort Lauderdale United FC’s commitment to providing a direct pathway from the academy to the professional level while continuing to strengthen its connection to the local community.

(July 8, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC is excited to announce that midfielder Shea Moyer’s loan move has been made permanent, securing her place on the roster for the 2026 Gainbridge Super League season, pending league and federation approval. Moyer, who joined Fort Lauderdale on loan from Lexington SC with seven matches remaining in the 2025/26 campaign, immediately established herself as a key contributor, providing leadership, creativity and attacking quality during the final stretch of the season.

“From the moment Shea arrived, she made a tremendous impact both on and off the field,” said Aly Hassan, General Manager of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “She quickly became an important part of our midfield with her leadership, composure, and ability to influence the game in every phase. Making her move permanent was an easy decision, and we’re excited to have her continue building with us.”

A dominant presence in the midfield, Moyer brings confidence, creativity and composure on the ball to the Fort Lauderdale squad. The Penn State product’s ability to dictate play and connect passes will be a key asset as the club prepares for the 2026 campaign.

The midfielder started all six matches she was available for, logging 480 minutes while posting a team-best 85.4% passing accuracy. Moyer also led the team with 13 tackles won, while her 33 duels won and nine interceptions ranked third during that span. After making an immediate impact during her loan spell, Moyer is poised to be a key figure in Fort Lauderdale’s midfield as the club sets its sights on a return to the Gainbridge Super League Playoffs in 2026.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 23, 2026) – Following the conclusion of the 2025/26 Gainbridge Super League season, Fort Lauderdale United FC has announced its roster decisions ahead of the 2026 campaign. With another season complete, Fort Lauderdale United remains focused on returning to the Super League Playoffs in the third season in club history.

Fort Lauderdale United FC thanks the following players for their contributions and professionalism during their time with the club and wishes them the best in their future endeavors.

The following players will be departing Fort Lauderdale United FC:

Kate Colvin – FW

Colvin arrived in South Florida following a five-year collegiate career at Texas A&M. The rookie forward became an important piece of the attack when available, appearing in 14 matches and making five starts despite battling injuries throughout the campaign. The former Aggie logged 550 minutes and scored one goal during her time with Fort Lauderdale.

Kat González – MF

After spending the inaugural season with Carolina Ascent FC, González made her way to South Florida for the 2025/26 campaign. The midfielder became a mainstay in the center of the park, appearing in 25 matches and making 12 starts while recording one goal and one assist. González logged 1,268 minutes during her lone season with Fort Lauderdale United.

Sophie Harding – FW

A native of New South Wales, Australia, Harding arrived in Fort Lauderdale midway through the season and made her club debut against Sporting JAX on November 22. The Australian forward appeared in 14 matches and made two starts, recording one assist while logging 362 minutes on the pitch.

Bella Hara – GK

A rookie out of Division II, Hara made her mark in South Florida after opening the season as the club’s starting goalkeeper. The Cal Poly Pomona product made 13 starts during her time with Fort Lauderdale, recording 34 saves and three clean sheets while logging 1,107 minutes in goal. Hara also earned Save of the Month honors in November.

Allie Long – MF

Long made history after signing with Fort Lauderdale United with five matches remaining in the 2025/26 season, becoming the first World Cup Winner to appear in the Gainbridge Super League. The legendary midfielder made her historic debut on May 2 against Tampa Bay Sun FC and closed the season with three appearances as a substitute with 28 minutes on the pitch.

Lilly McCarthy – MF

McCarthy joined Fort Lauderdale in the offseason for her rookie campaign following a standout collegiate career at West Virginia. The midfielder provided depth in the middle of the park, making nine appearances and scoring one goal while logging 60 minutes on the pitch.

Laveni Vaka – DF

Vaka had been with Fort Lauderdale United FC since the opening day of the inaugural season and was an integral part of the club both on and off the pitch. The defender returned from an ACL injury suffered during the inaugural campaign and appeared in 13 matches during the 2025/26 season, making 12 starts and logging 999 minutes. The BYU product concludes her Fort Lauderdale career with 31 appearances, 30 starts, 2,452 minutes played and one assist. Vaka departs South Florida as the club’s all-time leader in passes (1,552), passing accuracy (89.9 percent), and blocks (28).

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 18, 2026) – On Thursday afternoon, Fort Lauderdale United FC announced its 14-game slate for the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season. As the league prepares to transition to a spring-to-fall calendar beginning in 2027, each club will play a balanced 14-match schedule in 2026, facing every opponent once at home and once on the road. The campaign will open in August and conclude in December, and the club that finishes atop the regular-season standings will be awarded the Players’ Shield, while the top four teams in the table will qualify for the postseason. 

The third Super League season kicks off in August 2026 and will conclude on November 28, followed by a four-team playoff culminating in the Final on December 12. Every Gainbridge Super League match will be available to stream on Peacock.

Fort Lauderdale will open its highly anticipated third season in franchise history with a two-match homestand, hosting in-state rival Sporting JAX at Beyond Bancard Field on August 15 in the season opener before welcoming Brooklyn FC on August 28. 

September will present an early challenge for Fort Lauderdale, as the club plays four of its next five matches away from home. The club opens a two-match road trip with visits to Carolina Ascent FC on September 5 and Tampa Bay Sun FC on September 12 for the first Florida Derby of the season. Fort Lauderdale then returns to South Florida to host Dallas Trinity FC on September 18 before embarking on another two-match road swing.

The second road trip begins with a historic trip to the nation’s capital, where Fort Lauderdale will play the earliest kickoff in franchise history against DC Power FC at 11:00 a.m. on September 22 before concluding the stretch with the club’s second meeting of the season against Brooklyn FC on October 2, closing out the first half of the campaign.

The final seven matches of the regular season will see Fort Lauderdale alternate between home and away fixtures as the race for playoff positioning intensifies. The club returns home to host defending champion Lexington SC on October 10 before traveling to face Sporting JAX on October 16, a stretch against two of the top teams from a season ago.

Fort Lauderdale will then welcome Carolina Ascent FC to Beyond Bancard Field for a Thursday night matchup on October 22 before heading to the Lone Star State to take on Dallas Trinity FC on November 1. The month of November features a pivotal closing stretch, highlighted by the final Florida Derby of the regular season against Tampa Bay Sun FC on November 6. Fort Lauderdale will then travel to Lexington on November 13 for its final road match of the campaign before returning home to close out the regular season against DC Power FC on November 28.

The postseason format remains the same as the first two seasons in Gainbridge Super League history. The top four teams will advance to the playoffs, beginning on December 5. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 6, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC announced today that Tyrone Mears has returned as Head Coach of its Gainbridge Super League side for the 2026 campaign. Mears, who led the club to the inaugural Super League Final in the 2024/25 season, will assume head coaching duties for the team’s third season in franchise history. Interim Head Coach Paul Jennison will remain with the club as a member of the coaching staff.

Mears served as head coach during the club’s inaugural season, guiding Fort Lauderdale to a 12-9-9 record (42 points), earning two Coach of the Month honors and leading the club to a berth in the inaugural Super League Final. He returned for the 2025/26 season and earned a third Coach of the Month award before being promoted to President of Soccer on Sept. 16th, transitioning out of the head coaching role and into the front office.

“Since the day Tyrone arrived, he has helped establish the culture, standards, and identity of this club,” said Tommy Smith, Founder & Chairman of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “As we continue building for the future, we believe his leadership, experience, and connection to our players make him the right person to guide this group. We’re excited to have him back leading the team while he continues to shape the broader vision of our sporting department.”

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 1, 2026) – With the 2026 Gainbridge Super League season coming to a close, it’s time to reflect on Fort Lauderdale United FC’s second season in franchise history. From record-breaking moments to historic milestones, here’s a look back at the 2025/26 season – by the numbers.

30: Goals scored in the second season in club history. Across 28 matches during the 2025/26 campaign, Fort Lauderdale found the back of the net 30 times. The electric Kiara Locklear led the way with seven goals, while the dynamic duo of Kelli Van Treeck and Ella Simpson each added four. Sh’nia Gordon contributed two, while Emily Thompson, Abi Hugh, Kate Colvin, Kat Gonzalez and Lilly McCarthy each scored once. Midseason departures Jasmine Hamid, Darya Rajaee, Madison McComasky and Stella Nyamekye combined for seven goals before exiting the club. Notably, 29 of Fort Lauderdale’s 30 goals were scored by its own players, with one own goal rounding out the total.

9: Team of the Month selections. Across the league’s eight-month season, six Fort Lauderdale United players represented the club on the monthly honors list. The trio of Kiara Locklear (Sep/Apr), Kelli Van Treeck (Sep/Dec) and Jasmine Hamid (Oct/Feb) each made two appearances, while Ella Simpson (Sep), Lily Nabet (Nov) and Madison McComasky (Nov) each earned one selection throughout the 2025/26 season.  

6: Matches unbeaten to open the campaign. Fort Lauderdale United jumped out to an incredible start to begin the 2025/26 season, going unbeaten across its first six matches with three wins and three draws. During that stretch, the club scored 12 goals while conceding just seven, highlighted by a three-match winning streak. Fort Lauderdale earned its first win of the season on the road against Spokane Zephyr FC on September 6 before scoring a season-high four goals in a victory over Dallas Trinity FC on September 13 at Beyond Bancard Field. The streak continued with a road win over Brooklyn FC on September 28.

4: All-League honorees in club history. Midfielder Kelli Van Treeck became the fourth player in club history to earn All-League honors after being named to the 2025/26 Gainbridge Super League Second Team following her standout rookie campaign. The Lipscomb product made an immediate impact in South Florida, appearing in all 28 matches while making 25 starts and logging 2,187 minutes. One of the league’s top all-around midfielders, Van Treeck finished second on the team in both goals (4) and assists (2) while becoming one of just seven midfielders league-wide to reach those totals. Defensively, she led all Super League midfielders in duels won (175) and ranked second among midfielders in tackles won (48). She also totaled 22 key passes and 21 interceptions, both ranking second on the team. Her duel and tackle totals additionally ranked second in Fort Lauderdale United single-season history, capping a dominant debut professional season.

3: Academy-to-Pro dreams realized. Fort Lauderdale United FC continued to showcase its full developmental pathway as three Academy players made their professional debuts during the club’s second campaign. Daniela Todd, who began the season on an Academy contract, became the second player in club history to sign a professional deal after rising through the Academy. The Miami native also became the second youngest professional player in the Super League and recorded an assist in her debut on January 31, the third youngest player in league history to do so. Jules Cagle made her professional debut on April 11, while Alana Yasuda, the third youngest player in the Gainbridge Super League at 16 years old, debuted in the season finale on May 16. Combined, the teenage trio totaled 16 appearances, three starts, 430 minutes played, 30 duels won and one assist during the second half of the season.

1: World Cup champion in South Florida. Fort Lauderdale United FC made league history with the signing of legendary midfielder Allie Long with five matches remaining in the 2025/26 campaign. A 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup champion with the USWNT and three-time NWSL champion, Long brought a decorated résumé to Broward County after earning 51 caps for the United States from 2014-19. When she made her historic Fort Lauderdale debut on May 2 at Beyond Bancard Field, Long became the first World Cup champion to appear in a Gainbridge Super League match. Long concluded the season with three appearances and completed every pass across her 28 minutes on the pitch.

Van Treeck, who appeared in all 28 matches during her rookie campaign, becomes the fourth player in club history to earn All-League honors and served as a key engine in Fort Lauderdale’s midfield throughout the season.

Van Treeck arrived in South Florida after taking a year away from the game following a dominant collegiate career that began at Penn State and concluded with three standout seasons at Lipscomb. The midfielder made an immediate impact for Fort Lauderdale, appearing in all 28 matches while making 25 starts and logging 2,187 minutes on the pitch. One of the league’s most well-rounded midfielders, Van Treeck led all midfielders in duels won (175) and ranked second in tackles won (48). She was also one of just seven midfielders in the league to record at least four goals and two assists during the season, highlighting her all-around impact on both sides of the pitch. Additionally, she totaled 22 key passes and 21 interceptions, both ranking second on the team, while her goal and assist totals also finished second on the squad. Among the club record books, her duel and tackle totals each ranked second in club single-season history, concluding a truly dominant campaign for the rookie from Lipscomb. 

Van Treeck’s positional versatility proved invaluable throughout the campaign. The dynamic Van Treeck opened the season on the wing before moving into a central midfield role following mid-season roster departures. Later in the year, injuries along the back line forced her into central defense for the final stretch of the season. A true team-first player, Van Treeck consistently stepped into whatever role was needed for the squad.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (May 20, 2026) – With Fort Lauderdale United FC’s second season in club history now complete, several players have already cemented themselves among the most impactful names to wear the badge. From league-leading performances to club-record campaigns, five players stood out throughout the season and etched their names into both the Fort Lauderdale and Gainbridge Super League record books.

Sh’nia Gordon

Defender Sh’nia Gordon has been a mainstay in South Florida since the club’s inaugural season, consistently making her mark at both the league and club level. The club captain became just the second player in league history to surpass 5,000 minutes played during Saturday’s season finale, and also leads all players in league history in starts (58) and is tied for the league lead in appearances (58). At the club level, she now holds the all-time record for tackles won (68) and interceptions (46), while also tying the club record for shots (84).

Kiara Locklear

Forward Kiara Locklear etched her name further into Fort Lauderdale history during her second season in South Florida. The dynamic attacker took sole possession of the club’s all-time assists record (8) and shots on target record (39), while also tying the club’s all-time goals record (13) during an impactful campaign. Locklear also matched the club’s single-season assists record with four, a mark she originally set the year prior. At the league level, the Lipscomb product was one of just six players to record at least six goals and four assists during the season.

Haley Craig

Goalkeeper Haley Craig seized her opportunity late in her rookie campaign and never looked back. After earning the starting role with just 10 matches remaining in the season, the Stanford product went on to break the club’s all-time saves record (58) while also setting the club’s single-season mark across her 11 starts. At the league level, Craig finished tied for third in saves despite playing only 1,050 minutes, nearly 1,000 fewer than the other goalkeepers near the top of the leaderboard.

Ella Simpson

Defender Ella Simpson immediately stepped into a starting role for Fort Lauderdale United during her rookie season and quickly established herself as one of the league’s top defenders. Despite suffering an injury during the second half of the campaign, Simpson set club single-season records in clearances (127) and goals by a defender (4). While appearing in just 23 matches, her four goals were tied for the most among defenders in the league, while her 127 clearances ranked ninth overall.

Kelli Van Treeck

Midfielder Kelli Van Treeck made a dominant impact in her rookie season after taking a year away from the game following an illustrious collegiate career at Lipscomb. Van Treeck totaled 175 duels won and 48 tackles won, ranking second in club single-season history in both categories. At the league level, Van Treeck was one of just seven midfielders to record at least four goals and two assists, while also leading all midfielders in duels won and ranking second among midfielders in tackles won.

DALLAS, TX. (May 16, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC (5-15-8, 23 PTS) dropped its matchup with Dallas Trinity FC (11-10-7, 40 PTS) on Saturday evening in the season finale of its 2025/26 Gainbridge Super League campaign. Forward Alana Yasuda became the third player to make her pro debut after opening the season with the Fort Lauderdale United Academy in tonight’s match. With the result, Fort Lauderdale closes out the 2025/26 season and will look to regroup ahead of the club’s third season in 2026/27.

Fort Lauderdale United concludes the 2025/26 season with a 5-15-8 record across 28 matches, highlighted by a strong opening stretch that saw the club sit in second place through the first nine matches of the campaign. Over the course of the second season in franchise history, Fort Lauderdale scored 30 goals, earned nine Team of the Month selections and saw six players represent their national teams in international competitions or matches. The campaign also marked the completion of two full seasons with the club for Laveni Vaka, Sh’nia Gordon and Taylor Smith, who have been part of the squad since the inaugural match in franchise history.

Fort Lauderdale applied pressure from the opening whistle, setting an aggressive tone in the early stages. Haley Craig was called into action in the second minute, making a strong near-post save, before Abi Hugh followed with a tremendous defensive tackle in the eighth minute. In her second professional start, Daniela Todd delivered an impressive no-look pass to set up Hugh in the 10th minute. Sh’nia Gordon remained active in the attack throughout the first half, including a dangerous cross in the 18th minute that found Kate Colvin, whose shot was saved. Dallas took the lead in the 27th minute and doubled its advantage four minutes later. Gordon continued to push forward late in the half, recording shots in the 44th minute and stoppage time, but Fort Lauderdale went into the break trailing by two.

Fort Lauderdale’s best opportunity of the night came in the 56th minute when Kiara Locklear beat the Dallas goalkeeper off her line, but was unable to convert. Interim Head Coach Paul Jennison made his first changes in the 65th minute, bringing on Ella Simpson and Taylor Smith for Kelli Van Treeck and Kat González, though Dallas extended its lead four minutes later. Legendary midfielder Allie Long entered the match in the 79th minute for Laveni Vaka, while debutant Yasuda and Sophie Harding came on in the 81st minute for Maggie Mace and Colvin. Dallas added another in the 87th minute, and Fort Lauderdale closed out its 2025/26 season on the road against Dallas Trinity FC.
