(January 8, 2025) – On Thursday afternoon, the Gainbridge Super League announced that Fort Lauderdale United FC midfielder Kelli Van Treeck was named to the December Team of the Month. The honor marks Van Treeck’s second selection in four months of her rookie season after earning recognition in September, making her the eighth player in club history to receive multiple Team of the Month nods.

“Van Treeck has been consistently reliable, competitive and committed to the standards we expect every day,” said Ali Rogers, Head Coach of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “She brings that level every time she steps on the field.”

Van Treeck was among the league’s top performers in the final month of 2025, helping Fort Lauderdale secure a point across two matches. The Lipscomb product started both contests in December, logging 179 minutes. Despite playing fewer matches than many around the league, Van Treeck led all Super League midfielders in tackles won (7) during the month, ranked tied for third overall, and finished tied for seventh in duels won (15). She also scored her lone goal of the month in Fort Lauderdale’s road draw with Sporting JAX, helping the club earn a hard-fought point against an in-state opponent on the road. A vital presence in both the midfield and attack, Van Treeck will be relied upon heavily as the playoff push begins to take shape.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (January 7, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC announced today that the club and defender Sheyenne Allen have mutually agreed to part ways. Allen, one of seven players to return for a second season from the inaugural squad, provided continuity and depth along the left side of the pitch.

After standout performances in her final two seasons at Brown University, Allen joined Fort Lauderdale as part of the club’s inaugural roster for the 2024-25 USL Super League season. She appeared in 14 matches and earned five starts while helping lead the club to an appearance in the Super League Final. A versatile contributor, Allen lined up at both left wing and left back throughout the campaign, providing much-needed depth. She completed 75.4 percent of her passes and scored her lone goal of the season in a victory over Spokane Zephyr FC at Beyond Bancard Field on December 1, 2024.

Allen returned to Fort Lauderdale for the 2025-26 Gainbridge Super League season and appeared in four matches during the fall portion of the campaign, helping the club earn 18 points. She logged 63 minutes while recording 12 passes, three duels won, and one shot on target.

The defender concludes her Fort Lauderdale career with 18 appearances, five starts, and 434 minutes played and is one of just 15 players to score a goal for the club in its 44-match history. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (January 6, 2026) – Fort Lauderdale United FC announced today that midfielder Lily Nabet’s loan period has officially concluded and she will be departing the club.

Nabet joined Fort Lauderdale United shortly after the start of the 2025-26 Gainbridge Super League season on loan from the NWSL’s Angel City FC and immediately moved into a starting role in central midfield. The Duke product started eight of nine matches that she appeared in, logging 673 minutes. She recorded one assist, becoming one of just six players on the squad to do so, and completed 288 passes at a 72.6 percent accuracy rate while earning a November Team of the Month selection. Nabet also stood out league wide, ranking sixth among midfielders in aerial duels won (19) and 10th among midfielders in total duels won (63).

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (January 5, 2026) – With the fall portion of the 2025-26 Gainbridge Super League season complete, defender Laurel Ansbrow has played her final match for Fort Lauderdale United FC and will join Boston Legacy FC ahead of its inaugural season in the NWSL.

Ansbrow arrived in Fort Lauderdale in February of 2025 following a run to the 2024 National Championship with Wake Forest and quickly became a cornerstone of the back line. She started all 17 matches after joining the club, logged all 1,590 minutes, and earned two Team of the Month honors in her first months as a professional. Despite appearing in only half the season, she led the team in clearances (80) and tied for the lead in blocks (18) as she helped lead the club to the inaugural Super League Final.

After signing with Boston Legacy FC ahead of the 2025-26 Gainbridge Super League season, Ansbrow returned to Fort Lauderdale on loan from her new club and immediately resumed her impact. She started 13 of 14 matches and played 1,171 minutes, ranking fourth on the team as she helped the club earn 18 points. Ansbrow led the squad in passes (634), interceptions (14) and blocks (10) while ranking second on the team in clearances (68) in the first half of the season.

Ansbrow departs as the club’s all-time leader in clearances (148), blocks (28), and passes (1,363). The Wake Forest product also ranks tied for third in assists (3), fourth in minutes played (2,761) and tied for fourth in games started (30) and is one of just six players in club history to earn multiple Team of the Month selections.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (December 20, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC (4-4-6, 18 PTS) dropped its matchup with Spokane Zephyr FC (4-6-6, 18 PTS) on Saturday evening at Beyond Bancard Field in the final match of the Fall portion of the 2025/26 Gainbridge Super League season. Forward Kiara Locklear scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season and became the club’s all-time leading scorer (12) in the loss. With the result, Fort Lauderdale fell for the fourth time this season and closed the Fall portion of the campaign with points in 10 of 14 matches, and the club will take a short holiday break before returning to action in a high-powered January clash against Lexington SC.

Fort Lauderdale United will take a holiday break before returning to action on Saturday, January 31 for a home matchup against top-seeded Lexington SC. The clubs met twice in the first half of the campaign, including a 3-3 draw in the season opener at Beyond Bancard Field on Aug. 23 and a road loss in Lexington on Oct. 16.

Fort Lauderdale fell into an early hole after conceding in the 5th minute, forcing the club to play from behind for the remainder of the match. Fort Lauderdale generated a number of dangerous attacks through Sh’nia Gordon, Kelli Van Treeck and Locklear throughout the first half, but was unable to find the back of the net. Spokane doubled its advantage in the 44th minute, sending Fort Lauderdale into the break trailing 0-2.

Fort Lauderdale made its first pair of changes at halftime, bringing on Jasmine Hamid and Kat González for Madison McComasky and Darya Rajaee to add attacking pressure. Hamid made an immediate impact, having a shot blocked inside the box in the 47th minute. Goalkeeper Bella Hara was called into action in the second half, making saves in the 57th and 67th minutes, but Spokane added a third goal just seconds later in the 67th minute. Spokane was shown a red card two minutes later, giving Fort Lauderdale a man advantage for the final 20 minutes.

Following a long ball from Van Treeck, Locklear got into the box and finished to cut the deficit to two. González nearly added another in the 78th minute, but her shot was saved. Fort Lauderdale continued to press, making additional changes with Sophie Harding entering for Ella Simpson in the 80th minute and Lilly McCarthy coming on for Taylor Smith. Despite sustained pressure, Fort Lauderdale was unable to find another goal and fell 3-1 in the final match of the Fall portion of the 2025 season.

(December 19, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC (4-3-6, 18 PTS) returns home on Saturday evening to face Spokane Zephyr FC (3-6-6, 15 PTS) in its first home match in more than a month (Nov. 15). The clubs last met on September 6, when Fort Lauderdale earned a 1-0 road victory in Spokane for its first win of the season. With kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. at Beyond Bancard Field, Fort Lauderdale will look to secure all three points before entering a month-long hiatus.

Fort Lauderdale United FC comes into Saturday’s clash coming off a thrilling 1-1 draw on the road against its in-state foe, Sporting JAX. With just one match played in the last four weeks, the squad is rested and ready to close the Fall season on a strong note. The attack is led by Team of the Month honorees Kelli Van Treeck (4G, 2A), Kiara Locklear (4G) and Jasmine Hamid (2G, 1A), while the midfield features Lily Nabet, Stella Nyamekye, Taylor Smith and Darya Rajaee. Defensively, Ella Simpson and Laurel Ansbrow anchor the back line with captain Sh’nia Gordon on the right, and goalkeeper Bella Hara enters the weekend ranked top five in the league in both saves and clean sheets. With just one final match before a full month off, Fort Lauderdale will look to carry that momentum into a crucial matchup against Spokane on Saturday night.

Spokane has not earned a win since Oct. 12 and went on a four-match losing spell before breaking the streak with a draw against Lexington SC last weekend. Despite the struggles, the club is anchored by September and October Team of the Month goalkeeper Hope Hisey, who leads the league in saves (49). Offensively, Ally Cook paces the attack with four goals, while Reese Tappan leads the league in both passes (890) and clearances (86), with Sarah McCoy close behind. As Fort Lauderdale looks to close out the 2025 calendar year on a high note, the club will aim to take advantage of a Spokane side searching for form.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (December 13, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC (4-3-6, 18 PTS) drew its matchup with Sporting JAX (6-3-4, 22 PTS) on Saturday evening, in a thrilling match in Northeast Florida. Midfielder Kelli Van Treeck scored her team-high-tying fourth goal of the season as she helped the club earn a point in a hard-fought battle on the road. With the draw, Fort Lauderdale recorded its sixth tie of the season, earned points in all but three of its 13 matches, and will look to carry that momentum into its final match of the first half of the season, a duel against Spokane Zephyr FC at Beyond Bancard Field.

Fort Lauderdale United returns to action on Saturday, December 20 for its first match at Beyond Bancard Field in more than a month, hosting Spokane Zephyr FC in the final contest of the first half of the season. The clubs met once earlier in the 2025/26 campaign, when Ella Simpson scored the lone goal in a 1-0 road victory in Washington. With the fixture being the club’s last until January 31, Fort Lauderdale will be eager to close the calendar year on a strong note.

The match got off to a fast start for both sides, with goalkeeper Bella Hara called into action in the 6th minute, making a save to keep the match scoreless. Fort Lauderdale applied pressure early, as defender Sh’nia Gordon and forward Kiara Locklear each put shots on frame in the 9th and 19th minutes, respectively. Hara continued her strong play in the 24th minute with another save to keep the match level. As halftime approached, Fort Lauderdale pushed for an opening goal, with chances from Locklear (43rd), Van Treeck (44th) and Princess Ademiluyi (44th), but the shots wouldn’t find the back of the net and the clubs went into the break tied at 0-0.

Fresh out of the halftime break, Hara made another key save in the 47th minute to preserve the scoreline. The second half featured physical play from both sides, and Fort Lauderdale created an opportunity in the 65th minute when Locklear fired a shot that missed the mark. Fort Lauderdale broke through in the 74th minute when midfielder Stella Nyamekye sent a cross into the box that deflected off a JAX defender. Van Treeck was in the right place and finished from close range to give the club a 1-0 lead with just over 15 minutes remaining.

Changes followed shortly after the goal, with Lily Nabet coming on for Darya Rajaee in the 75th minute in a like for like switch. Additional substitutions came in the 84th minute, as Sophie Harding replaced Ademiluyi and Kat González entered for Nyamekye. Just as the final whistle approached, Sporting JAX pulled level just before the 90th minute. Fort Lauderdale made its final changes late, bringing on Kate Colvin and Lilly McCarthy for Van Treeck and Locklear, but neither side found a winner in stoppage time as Fort Lauderdale and Sporting JAX played to a 1-1 draw.

(December 12, 2025) – After a much-needed three-week break, Fort Lauderdale United FC (4-3-5, 17 PTS) is set to return to Jacksonville for a second straight meeting with Sporting JAX (6-3-3, 21 PTS) on Saturday evening. Fort Lauderdale fell 0-2 in the inaugural matchup between the sides on November 22 in the fourth match of a two-week span, and the club will be aiming to level the season series in the final meeting of the first half. With kickoff set for 5:00 p.m., Fort Lauderdale will look to take all three points in its penultimate match before the midway mark.

Fort Lauderdale United FC enters Saturday’s duel coming off its third loss of the season, a 0-2 defeat to the same Sporting JAX side it will meet again this weekend. After navigating four matches in a 14-day stretch, Fort Lauderdale is fully rested following a 21-day break and will look to close out the first half of the campaign on a strong note with just two December matches remaining. FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (December 8, 2025) – Over the past two weeks, Fort Lauderdale United was represented at the international level by a quartet of players who made their mark on the global stage. Forward Nia Christopher (Bermuda), along with midfielders Stella Nyamekye (Ghana) and Kathrynn González (Dominican Republic), featured for their senior national teams, while forward Princess Ademiluyi (England U-20) represented England at the youth international level.

“It’s always the highest honor when a player is called up for international duty,” said Ali Rogers, Head Coach of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “Each of our four call-ups – Kat, Nia, Stella, and Princess – delivered outstanding performances for their countries. Their success is a reflection not only of their individual talent and professionalism, but also of the daily standards they uphold within our environment. We’re incredibly proud of them and look forward to seeing how these experiences continue to elevate their game back with the club.”

Christopher returned to the Bermuda National Team after a multi-year absence and made an immediate impact. The forward started both matches of the CONCACAF Women’s Championship Qualifying window against Cayman Islands and Guatemala, logging 162 minutes, and scored in her first start to help Bermuda secure a 4-0 victory over the Cayman Islands.

Nyamekye started for Ghana in its friendly against England at St. Mary’s Stadium, the nations’ first-ever meeting on the women’s side. Just a month after appearing in two matches for Ghana, the midfielder played 77 minutes for the Black Queens in a hard-fought 0-2 defeat against one of the top sides in the world.

González returned to the Dominican Republic National Team for the first time since May, starting in her usual role in a pivotal CONCACAF Women’s Championship Qualifying match against Suriname. The midfielder went the full 90 minutes as the Dominican Republic earned a point in a thrilling 2-2 draw at home.

Ademiluyi joined the England U-20 Women’s National Team for a trio of matches in Spain against China PR, the United States and Mexico as part of its early preparation for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup. The forward did not appear in the matches against China PR or Mexico, but started and played the full 90 minutes in a 1-4 loss to the United States.
