FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (September 2, 2026) – On Wednesday afternoon, the Gainbridge Super League announced that Fort Lauderdale United FC defender Kelsey Oyler was named to the August Team of the Month. Oyler, who joined Fort Lauderdale United during the offseason from Spokane Zephyr FC, made an immediate impact along the club’s back line through the opening two matches of the campaign.
In her first month with the club, Oyler stepped into the starting lineup for both matches in August, playing all 180 minutes. The former Spokane defender led the league in tackles won (7) while ranking tied for 12th in duels won (14) and tied for 14th in interceptions (4). Oyler was one of just two players in the league to record at least four clearances, four interceptions, seven tackles won and 14 duels won (Justina Gaynor), highlighting her all-around versatility on the defensive end. The Arkansas product’s ability going forward has added a new dimension to the Fort Lauderdale attack, with her seven crosses ranking tied for 11th through the first month of the season. A dynamic presence along the back line, Oyler will continue to be a key piece of the squad as the club looks to spark a winning streak in September.
