FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (June 5, 2026) – On Friday afternoon, USL League Two announced that Fort Lauderdale United FC defender Idrissa Mane was named to the May Team of the Month for his performances during the opening month of the 2026 campaign. Mane, one of just 12 returning players from the club’s inaugural League Two season, has been a commanding presence along Fort Lauderdale’s back line in his second year with the club.
Mane was the leader of Fort Lauderdale’s dominant back line in May, making his presence felt on the ball, in the air, and in one-on-one situations throughout his 266 minutes on the pitch. The versatile defender helped the club record four consecutive clean sheets and concede just one goal across five matches in May, a goal that came in a match that Mane did not appear in. The Senegal native also contributed in the attack, showcasing his pinpoint distribution and long-ball accuracy while recording an assist in Fort Lauderdale’s season-opening victory over Weston FC.
