
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL Academy League team beat Miami AC 4-0 in a home rematch, led by a brace from forward Ethan Mitler. This is the club’s second win in a row and fourth of the season, remaining undefeated with a 4-0-1 record.
Fort Lauderdale got the first goal of the game early on in the 13th minute, courtesy of Mitler. The lead doubled just six minutes later, this time midfielder Rafael de Almeida getting the goal in the 19th minute. The score remained 2-0 going into halftime.
The match’s third goal came for Fort Lauderdale in the 59th minute when Mitler got his second of the game. Substitute forward Jordan Herrera got the fourth and final goal of the game in stoppage time to secure the 4-0 win for Fort Lauderdale.
Our Fort Lauderdale United FC USL Academy League squad will return to the pitch on Tuesday, July 8 for an away game against St. Petersburg FC—their second meeting of the season— at Johnson Athletic Field in Saint Petersburg, Fla. Kick-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
