FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (October 14, 2025) – Fort Lauderdale United FC is thrilled to announce the signing of former Miami Hurricanes goalkeeper Lauren Rodriguez as the club reaches the second half of the 2026 Gainbridge Super League Fall Season, pending league and federation approval.
A consistent shot-stopper with sharp reflexes, Rodriguez adds depth to the Fort Lauderdale United goalkeeping room alongside Haley Craig and Heather Hinz. The 5’11” goalkeeper will look to make an impact as the club enters the final six matches of the 2026 campaign.
“Lauren is a talented goalkeeper with sharp reflexes and the ability to make important saves,” said Aly Hassan, General Manager of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “She adds quality and depth to our goalkeeping group, and we’re pleased to bring her into the squad for this important stretch of the season. We look forward to having her compete and contribute as we work toward our goals.”
A native of Hamilton, New York, Rodriguez spent the first four years of her collegiate career at Columbia, appearing in 21 matches across three seasons. The goalkeeper started 16 matches during the 2024 season, recording 35 saves and four shutouts as she helped the Lions earn seven wins. Rodriguez then made her way to South Florida for her final year of eligibility, transferring to the University of Miami for the 2025/26 season. The shot-stopper concluded her collegiate career with 1,491 minutes in goal, recording 37 saves and five clean sheets across 23 appearances. Following her collegiate career, Rodriguez spent time with Fort Lauderdale United FC’s USL W League team during the 2026 campaign.
Rodriguez will look to make an impact across the final six matches of the season as Fort Lauderdale aims to build on its momentum and secure a place in the Gainbridge Super League Playoffs.
