For the children enjoying Soccerex Miami’s 2026 Community Impact Event at NU Stadium, the day was about more than learning soccer. It was a chance to play, laugh, make connections and experience the excitement of the game with coaches ready to cheer them on.
Fort Lauderdale United FC brought coaches from its popular Youth Academy to work with children from across South Florida, helping them learn the game through hands-on instruction and play. The coaches shared their time, energy and enthusiasm, making soccer part of a memorable stadium experience.

“Giving back starts with showing up,” said Tommy Smith, Founder and Chairman of Fort Lauderdale United FC. “Our coaches have an opportunity to help children discover soccer, build confidence and feel part of something. We want young people across South Florida to know this game belongs to them, and we’re proud to help open that door.”
The event brought community partners together around a shared goal: giving children a day filled with connection, encouragement and fun. Between soccer activities, laughter and dancing, there were plenty of reasons to smile.
“Seeing the kids playing, laughing, dancing, and enjoying the stadium experience made all the hard work worthwhile,” said Maggie Torres-Navia, Chief Business Development Officer with Soccerex. “It truly took everyone coming together to make the day happen, and I’m so grateful for your support.”
For Fort Lauderdale United FC, participating reflected the club’s commitment to growing youth soccer in South Florida and building relationships beyond matchday. That work begins with moments like these: a coach offering encouragement, a child trying something new and a community coming together through soccer. Each moment gives another young player a reason to keep playing.
