FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –Fort Lauderdale United FC forward Jasmine Hamid was recognized by the USL Super League, with the forward being named the league’s Player of the Month for December. The Towson product was electric for Fort Lauderdale in the final month of 2024, recording a goal and a pair of assists in a trio of consecutive wins for the club to close out the year.
Hamid is the first FTL UTD player to earn the honor of Player of the Month , and just the fifth player to garner the recognition in the young league’s history. Hamid’s lone goal in December was the fastest in league history, hitting the back of the net on an inward-bending strike just 110 seconds into the match to give FTL an early lead against second-seeded Dallas Trinity FC.
The left wing thrived under the new tactics that sparked the three-match winning streak for the club in December. Hamid used her dynamic skill set down the wing and showed the ability to cut inside and either shoot or make the right pass to open teammates in space. The electric Hamid was crucial for the FTL attack down the stretch, notching a pair of assists in her new role in the final month of the year. In fact, Hamid scored or assisted on half of the club’s goals in December, and will look to keep her hot-streak going into the second-half of the season.
