COLLEGE
2026 Season:
Amber Nguyen is in her first season with Fort Lauderdale United FC – on loan from Lexington SC.
Previous Experience:
A creative midfielder with a dynamic skill set, Nguyen adds another attacking option to the Fort Lauderdale United squad. Her ability to create opportunities for teammates and find the back of the net herself will provide an additional threat as the club looks to build momentum and secure a return to the Gainbridge Super League Playoffs.
A native of Snellville, Georgia, Nguyen began her collegiate career at Vanderbilt, where she quickly established herself as a key contributor for the Commodores. The midfielder helped the team capture the SEC Tournament title during her freshman season and went on to appear in 66 matches with 47 starts, recording five goals and 11 assists across 3,992 minutes before transferring to Georgia for her final year of eligibility. Nguyen played a key role for the Bulldogs during the 2024/25 season, making 19 starts in 21 appearances while logging 1,552 minutes. She concluded her collegiate career with 87 appearances, including 66 starts, seven goals and 11 assists across 5,554 minutes on the pitch.
Following her collegiate career, Nguyen signed a short-term contract with the NWSL’s NC Courage but did not make a match appearance before joining Lexington SC ahead of the 2025/26 campaign. She appeared in nine matches, including one start, as she helped Lexington capture the Players’ Shield and Gainbridge Super League title, completing the first double in league history. Nguyen made two appearances for Lexington during the 2026 season before joining Fort Lauderdale on loan.
An electric midfielder with the ability to create opportunities and contribute on the scoresheet, Nguyen adds another attacking presence to the Fort Lauderdale squad as the club looks to spark a run in the final seven matches of the campaign.
